Basundi : A dessert of Maharashtra
Basundi is a dessert famous in the Maharashtra and Western states like Gujarat and even areas of Karnataka at Maharashtra border. The dishes is most preferably taken with hot pooris.
The time required to prepare is about 25 to 30 minutes,
Ingredients required for Basundi
The ingredients is for two servings, sugar quantity can be adjusted as per taste and some even don’t prefer adding sugar to the dish. The ingredients required are
1 liter milk
125 ml sweetened condensed milk
1 tbsp charoli
1 tbsp almonds, blanched and sliced
½ tsp cardamom powder
Extra sugar if required as per taste.
Method to prepare Basundi
The milk should be boiled till it becomes thick, then add sweetened condensed milk and simmer for about 15 minutes. Add almonds, charoli and cardamom powder and refrigerate.
Basundi is now prepared and should be served chilled. One can enjoy more if taken with hot pooris.
